This is a Salometer (Hydrometer for Brine). It can be used for testing water softener brine solutions (26.4%) or for cooking applications where brine strength needs to be checked.

This comes in 4 differenet scales:
- 0-26.4% Brine Strength (A-1418)
- 0-100% Salt Saturation (A-1415)
- Specific Gravity, 1.0-1.07 (A-1444)
- Specific Gravity, 1.0-1.22 (A-1101)
There is also an optional Glass Cylinder for Hydrometer, 300 mL (08-530J) for holding a sample solution for testing.
