Thiocarbamate Chemistry. With ppm increments of 0.05, 0.15, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 1.0 ppm as Cu.
Copper/silver ionization systems produce trace levels of the two metals to kill algae in pools and spas. Reportedly, copper works well against mustard algae and silver is potent against black algae. Only the copper ion needs monitoring; when copper readings are good, the silver level will be fine, too. Copper/silver ionization systems are also used against Legionella pneumophila (Legionnaire's Disease causing bacteria) in potable water applications. Use K-1730 for these applications.
