Focus Markets
We are defining our “Focus Markets” to be:
“Those segments of the total Water Treatment Marketplace for which we have a combination of products and/or talents that make us uniquely qualified to provide a superior service to our customers.”
While we believe that we provide excellence in both products and services to all of our customers, a Focus Market is one where we can make a unique offering.
Our focus markets are:
The Redimix Concrete Market: The primary customer need here is the treatment of the boiler that warms the water for use in the making of cement. Since this water is used in the ultimate product, care must be taken to insure that the product does no damage to the quality of the customer’s cement product.
The Unique Benefit: Our EnduroSolv solid product treatment, CreteTreat, not only treats the boiler to prevent corrosion, it has been shown by an independent laboratory to enhance the curing times and strength of the concrete product.
The Real Estate Market: The primary customer need is the efficient operation and long life of the heating and air-conditioning equipment.
The Unique Benefit: We are a one source supplier for the treatment of cooling towers, boilers, hot closed loops, chilled closed loops, and unit heater condensate drip pans, as well as providing routine on-site consulting services even to include water softening equipment. We have some unique products for on-line cleaning of fouled closed loops.
The Green Market: Using Green Chemistry provided by the EnduroSolv product line allows us to provide water treatment chemicals for various applications with the absolute minimum risk possible to the environment.
The Unique Benefit: See the Green Chemistry page.
The Expandable Foam (Styrofoam) Market: One of the challenges in this market is to maximize the cycles of concentration in the boiler to provide the greatest energy efficiency. This usually requires the use of an Accumulator which can be difficult to treat. The other challenge is the commingling of cooling tower water with boiler water which requires both treatment programs to be compatible with each other.
The Unique Benefit: We provide compatible treatments for boilers and cooling towers and have a unique approach to the control of the Accumulator.
The Biological Waste Market: Biological waste treatment plants and lagoons rely on bacteria to digest organic material. In this process bacteria which are starved for nutrients or oxygen (such as in the center of a clump of bacterial slime) will die creating septic conditions which can give rise to an increase in anaerobic bacteria. The anaerobic bacteria can cause undesirable odors, while the accumulation of dead aerobic bacteria will cause an increase in sludge formed.
The Unique Benefit: The enzyme formulations that we use keep the biomass dispersed preventing septic conditions. The increased surface area of the dispersed biomass increases the ability of the bacteria to digest organics more efficiently, thus lowering the BOD, COD and reducing odors associated with septic conditions. These products have also been shown to be effective in dissolving bacterial slimes in which the anaerobic bacteria live. Applications for these products are also in lift stations and grease traps to help remove the accumulation of Fats, Oils, and Greases (FOG).
The Clean-In-Place (CIP) Market: Typical cleaning agents in the food industry contain degreasers, caustics, and sterilizing chemicals. These all cause serious problems for biological waste treatment plants. Factories that use such chemicals often pay high surcharges as part of their monthly sewer bill and can face severe financial penalties for noncompliance either with their NPDES Permit discharge limits or with their discharge limits to the PTOW because of these hazardous chemicals.
The Unique Benefit: Our enzyme formulations eliminate the use of caustics, chemical degreasers, and sterilizing chemicals. Removing traditional cleansers from Clean-In-Place operations lowers monthly sewer charges and improves the compliance record for our customers. These products have been demonstrated to create clean, sterile conditions on food handling equipment.
The New HVAC Equipment Market: New cooling towers and evaporative condensers need to have their galvanized steel passivated to prevent “White Rust” corrosion. AWT published a significant paper on White Rust in 2002 which outlines the possible causes of White Rust and the OEM guidelines for passivation. Likewise, new boilers or boiler tubes are coated with protective oils to prevent corrosion before and during manufacture. These must be removed prior to operation.
The Unique Benefit: We follow the procedures outlined in the AWT White Rust Paper and have used the appropriate EnduroSolv Green Chemistry product to achieve the desired passivation results on new cooling towers. Using the appropriate EnduroSolv Green Chemistry product and our Boil-Out procedure, we are able to effectively clean and remove the oils from boilers and boiler tubes to prepare them for normal operation.
